THE REVIEWS ARE IN!!

On Feb 21st we aired a pre-viewing of the doc, If My sisSTAR is in the HOOD, That's Where I Need To Be!", that will officially be released on Feb 24th & 25th in a special 2-day event! We went live with the news that we would be allowing 15 people, plus the Features (The Deliverers) and sisSTAR Ambassadors to have the opportunity to view the doc between 3pm-9pm MST. We chatted with them online and once the 15 were locked in we sent the link!

There were some random technical difficulties with some people on their phones, and a few were sadly unable to watch. We weren't sure what that was all about, but there were several sisSTARS and 1 Sun, who successfully viewed our finished film!!

We sat in our office the ENTIRE time working on other things, but we were excited, anxious, and nervous as to what their responses would be! We created a group chat on FB and little by little the responses came in...

We are humbled, honored, relieved, touched, grateful, and just so excited to finally have eyes on our baby! It has been a pure labor of love and to finally hear responses and how it's touching their very souls is just.............we have no words. Our intention was to go out and get our sisSTARS and let them know that we love and care about them and will NOT leave them behind. With the feedback we are receiving, we feel we have accomplished our goal.

#WEGOTWE It's a sisSTAR thang!™ is producing a one of a kind documentary entitled "If My SisSTAR Is In The Hood, That Is Where I Need to Be" in which women in urban communities are THE focus. This documentary will serve to reach women who are mentally and physically imprisoned by their circumstances in urban communities.

WOMBMEN from across the nation have volunteered their testimonies and submitted their own, RAW footage, in hopes of saving other wombs with their stories of struggle and triumph.

This film, the women in it, and their testimonies will aid women in freeing themselves from the hold and the programming of the oppressor, which in many cases is themselves. For far too long HER story has been told from a patriarchal view…the time has come to see her story through her eyes.

What is more compelling than the hardships and stories of incarceration, homelessness, discrimination, and fighting the system (among many more), are the spiritual journeys these women set out on for their freedom.
